Matthews Shumba Juma was born in Mzimba District, North of Malawi. He started schooling at Chiputula Primary School in Mzuzu and then moved to Mzimba his home village, where he got selected to Kamilaza Community Day Secondary School, where he passed his Junior Level Exams and went back to Mzuzu. While in high school, he developed a passion to be a lawyer but switched off and started writing. He is now in South Africa working as a security officer as he writes and publishes his works.
